Our Earth Without Oil: Oil Against Forests, A Destructive Choice by the Government

The Our Earth Without Oil coalition, which brings together 176 Congolese and international organizations, strongly denounces the opening of 52 new oil blocks in the central basin. This decision was announced by the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Council of Ministers on May 2, 2025. The coalition calls for the immediate halt of this process, which raises serious concern given its ecological, social, and climate consequences.
